On 50th March for Life, ADF committed to defending pro-life laws

Friday, Jan 20, 2023

The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom CEO, President, and General Counsel Kristen Waggoner regarding Friday’s landmark 50th annual March for Life, the first in a post-Roe v. Wade America:

“The March for Life is the largest pro-life event in the world, with hundreds of thousands of people gathering every year at our nation’s capital to decry the greatest human rights violation of our time—abortion—and stand in the gap for the unborn. This year is particularly meaningful as we rejoice over the countless lives that will be saved since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe—the result of decades of hard work, litigation, and advocacy by so many pro-life leaders and Americans. Together, we boldly affirm that life is a human right. We now face unique challenges—from defending pro-life laws in numerous states to battling the abortion industry’s reckless and dangerous push to expand chemical abortion—but we are more committed than ever to protecting the unborn and ensuring that every mother has the real support she needs.”

After helping to draft and defend Mississippi’s pro-life law at the center of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization—the case in which the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade—ADF attorneys are now working in 12 other states to defend their pro-life laws: Arizona, Iowa, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Alliance Defending Freedom is an alliance-building, non-profit legal organization committed to protecting religious freedom, free speech, parental rights, and the sanctity of life.
