Va. closes loophole that allowed abortionists to escape safety standards
Friday, Apr 12, 2013
The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Casey Mattox regarding the Virginia Board of Health’s final approval Friday of new regulations designed to protect women by requiring abortion sellers to meet the same health and safety standards that all medical facilities must follow:
“Virginia should be congratulated for holding abortionists to the same health and safety standards as everyone else. Their resistance to such standards exposes their real attitude toward women, especially in light of the revelations from the Kermit Gosnell trial and the unsanitary conditions found in investigations of Virginia abortion facilities. Planned Parenthood, for example, is a billion-dollar corporation that performs an abortion every 95 seconds. It is not too much to expect that abortionists, including the nation’s largest abortion seller, meet basic standards to protect women’s health.”
