New Mexico court rules no 'right to die' at hands of doctors

The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Litigation Counsel Catherine Glenn Foster regarding a New Mexico Court of Appeals decision Tuesday in Morris v. King that reverses a lower ruling which allows doctor-prescribed death:
“Suffering patients need understanding and sound medical treatment, not encouragement to kill themselves – and especially not through doctors who pledge to ‘do no harm.’ New Mexico law clearly criminalizes deliberate assistance in someone else’s suicide. The court was right to reverse the lower court’s decision which invented a right to doctor-prescribed death that does not exist. Families will now have the opportunity to honor and cherish their loved ones in their final days.”
