Calls to investigate Planned Parenthood swell as Colo. hesitates

Wednesday, Aug 26, 2015
The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Michael J. Norton regarding a letter Wednesday from 30 Colorado legislators encouraging a state agency to investigate Planned Parenthood in the wake of the Colorado attorney general’s comments this week that neither she nor the Department of Public Health and Environment intends to do so at this time, as ADF itself had requested on July 31 and Aug. 17:

“No state in America has more reason to investigate Planned Parenthood than Colorado. The barbaric haggling over the heads, livers, hearts, and lungs of aborted babies took place in Colorado. Yet it hesitates. We add our voice to the 30 state legislators who have called on the Department of Public Health and Environment to stand up for women in our state and investigate Planned Parenthood. Over a dozen states have found cause to do just that in light of the issues raised by the recent undercover videos, some of which were taken inside Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood facilities. In addition, several states have taken action to defund Planned Parenthood. Somehow, those entrusted to uphold laws and allocate taxpayer funds in Colorado continue to choose to ignore the complaints, lawsuits, and potential lawbreaking that continue to pile up around the state’s abortion franchise.”
