ADF: Senate shouldn't hold hearings on Obama nomination to Supreme Court

Wednesday, Mar 16, 2016
The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Casey Mattox regarding President Obama’s announcement Wednesday of a nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court:

“The Obama administration has demonstrated it cannot be trusted to respect the rule of law, the Constitution, and the limits of its own authority. So it should be no surprise that the American people would be highly skeptical that any nominee this president puts forth would be acceptable. The truth is that the Senate and the president share the responsibility in deciding who will sit on the Supreme Court. Especially in the midst of an intense presidential election season, the Senate majority is wise to exercise its authority to not hold hearings out of respect for the voice of the American people and the next president we will elect.”
