WASHINGTON – Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys and others who support the people’s freedom to affirm marriage as the union of one man and one woman in their laws will be available for media interviews outside the U.S. Supreme Court Tuesday. ADF and the Alabama Attorney General’s Office submitted one of the more than 60 briefs filed in defense of the marriage laws challenged in Obergefell v. Hodges and three other cases consolidated with it.

“The people of every state should remain free to affirm marriage as the union of a man and a woman in their laws,” said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Jim Campbell, director of the ADF Center for Marriage and Family. “The Supreme Court should respect peoples’ freedom to debate this important issue and decide it as a community. The Constitution does not demand that one irreversible view of marriage be forced on all the states.”

In addition to Campbell, ADF Senior Counsel Jordan Lorence and ADF Litigation Counsel Caleb Dalton will also be available for media interviews on the sidewalk outside the Supreme Court.
