The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel David Cortman regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s unanimous decision Thursday in Reed v. Town of Gilbert:
“Speech discrimination is wrong regardless of whether the government intended to violate the First Amendment or not, and it doesn’t matter if the government thinks its discrimination was well-intended. It’s still government playing favorites, and that’s unconstitutional, as the Supreme Court today found.”
A full news release on the Supreme Court’s decision will be issued shortly and will be posted on the Reed v. Town of Gilbert resource page.
