ADF to federal government: Rescind harmful policies from previous administrations

The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel and Director of Regulatory Practice Matt Bowman regarding a public comment ADF submitted Friday to the Office of Management and Budget that highlights multiple federal regulations and policies imposed during previous administrations that violate the U.S. Constitution:

“Our public servants should serve the best interest of American citizens, including medical personnel who seek to do no harm and people of faith who seek to serve their communities. Unfortunately, previous administrations deployed harmful policies and regulations that exceeded executive authority and overreach in the areas of abortion, human sexuality, free speech, religious liberty, and parental rights. Now, we are urging the Trump administration to rescind these policies and, when appropriate, agree in court that these rules should be vacated nationwide.”

In its letter, ADF highlights policies that force schools and medical personnel to accept gender identity ideology at the expense of biological sex, doctors to perform unsafe abortion procedures that violate their conscience, and remove funding from beneficial religious ministries. ADF specifically requests the federal government to reverse its stance in the following cases: McComb Children’s Clinic v. Kennedy, Tennessee v. Kennedy, Rapides Parish School Board v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Purl v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Christian Employers Alliance v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Alliance Defending Freedom is an alliance-building, non-profit legal organization committed to protecting religious freedom, free speech, parental rights, and the sanctity of life.
