Wyoming governor signs bill to protect privacy of women, girls

The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Legal Counsel Sara Beth Nolan regarding Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon’s signing of HB 72, a bill that protects women and girls by prohibiting men from entering into women’s spaces—such as changing rooms, sleeping quarters, and restrooms—and requiring colleges, public buildings, and correctional facilities to safeguard women’s safety and privacy in these spaces:

“States have a duty to protect the privacy, safety, and dignity of women and girls. Letting men intrude on women’s spaces—whether at college, in public buildings, or in correctional facilities—is an invasion of privacy, a threat to their safety, and a denial of the real biological differences between the two sexes. ADF commends Rep. Martha Lawley and Sen. Barry Crago for their leadership and the Wyoming Legislature for making HB 72 a priority. We also thank the Wyoming Family Alliance for its monumental work on this effort. By signing this bill into law, Gov. Gordon is protecting women and girls in Wyoming for generations to come.”
