“Every citizen, regardless of their beliefs, should be treated equally. But the state of Missouri’s primary argument is that its constitution actually requires discrimination against people of faith and religious organizations. The reality is that both the state and federal constitutions require neutrality. The state can’t disqualify an organization that exceeded the requirements for participation in a generally available government program merely because it’s religious. No state or federal constitution should be interpreted to require hostility and discrimination against people of faith.”
