The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Legal Counsel Erica Steinmiller-Perdomo regarding Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s signing Monday of SB 1, a bill that protects female athletes of all ages against males competing on their sports teams and invading their intimate spaces–including restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, and showers. Steinmiller-Perdomo, along with ADF Legal Counsel Rachel Rouleau, testified before the Georgia State Senate Special Committee on the Protection of Women’s Sports in October 2024:
“Letting men intrude on women and girls’ sports teams and gain access to their intimate spaces is an invasion of privacy, a threat to their safety, and a denial of the real biological differences between the sexes. Georgia is right to ensure that female athletes of all ages have a fair and level playing field and protect the privacy, safety, and dignity of women and girls. ADF commends Senator Greg Dolezal, Senator John Kennedy, and Rep. Josh Bonner for their leadership in passing this critical bill. We also thank the Frontline Policy Council for its partnership in this effort. By signing this legislation into law, Gov. Kemp is protecting Georgians for generations to come.”
