AR governor signs bill to protect girls’ privacy

The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Legal Counsel Sara Beth Nolan regarding Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ signing of SB 486, a bill that protects women and girls by safeguarding their intimate spaces from men—such as changing rooms, sleeping quarters, and restrooms—in domestic violence shelters, correctional facilities, and government buildings:

“Women and girls should not be forced to sacrifice their privacy and safety to activists pushing gender ideology. Allowing men to invade girls’ intimate spaces—including locker rooms, sleeping areas, or restrooms—compromises their dignity. SB 486 ensures that girls’ spaces in domestic violence shelters, correctional facilities, and government buildings are not open to men, and it prioritizes privacy and safety of everyone. ADF commends Gov. Sanders, Rep. Mary Bentley, Sen. Blake Johnson, and the Arkansas Legislature for their leadership on SB 486. We also thank the Arkansas Family Council for its unwavering commitment to protecting women and girls across the state.”
